Not spicy enough
Husband´s BBQ sauce has been put to the test for today´s lunch, and it did pass- but barely! Don´t get me wrong, it tastes good, really good, but we are missing the sting of habaneros. I should have taken the spicier variety, but did not want to taste the sauce, when I saw that a lot of people used their digits instead of the wooden sticks offered in a tin in clear view next to each bowl with sauce. I watched, shuddered and left the room for testing. It´s so disgusting when people deliberately ignore the rules!
Daughter has left in the early morning after doing some crossword puzzles with me. She will be back on the evening, because tomorrow it´s early shift again! I must not forget to take another picture! It´s fun to compare them, but I know that I will get melancholy when I will see the morning light slowly but surely disappear- in less than two weeks it´s summer solstice, and the brightest time of the year will be over already! Finally one melancholy that did not come with old age. My mother told me that even when a child I got melancholy after her birthday on the 21st of June. Apparently I live in the wrong place...
Concerning weather we have been on the privileged side- warm, sometimes almost summery, next to no rain, a few thunderstorms, which were loud but definitely harmless. The East and South of the country were not so lucky- heavy thunderstorms, often with hail, incessant rain, floodings! Because of the dry weather hubby and I have to do a lot of watering in the morning and the evening, and today we started to feed the snails, until hubby will bring out the snail trap. Snails live in the high grass on the adjacent property and come for a visit during night. Hubby is very concerned about the pumpkins he has planted. Well, I told him to get a raised bed, but he did not want to spend money on a thing that does not afford working on the knees, so he has to live with the consequences.
Because of daughter´s early shift and an after-lunch nap gone wrong (the moment my head touched the pillow, landscape gardeners started to cut down trees in the ex-vet´s garden) I will call it a day (not that I have done much), will turn on my tablet PC to look for a knitted sweater for boys- Cassian wants another jumper, I even had to reserve a tiny bit of the yarn for Elsa´s one, because he loved the bluish colour so much. And since I have a lot of white yarn left from an old project I might do a jumper for Flavius, too. Now I wonder if little boys like him will get teased in case that there´s some violet/ pinkish colour in their jumper. The bluish yarn will not be enough for two!
