Since I already woke up at 2:30 I decided that an early start would not hurt and got up. I made me a cup of coffee and read the old dailies. New one always comes late on Sundays. There was that strange sound coming from the living room area again, as if paper got moved along the tiled floor. I've heard it the last nights I was up also. No clue what it is- windows all closed, so no wind would move anything, no pets in the house, daughter and hubby both still in bed. A mouse maybe that lives under our sofa, but where would it hide when hubby does his daily vacuuming? We left a bit early today, because it was a) raining hard b) traffic was supposed to be heavier than usual. No cars on the streets, only rain, though lots of it. I think that those people returning from vacation all would have wished for better weather. Alas, it will get warmer from Thursday on only, and the oncoming heatwave they had prophesied for the end of the week must have gotten lost during its journey northwards- the most we will get the next two weeks will be a meagre 25. That summer is indeed a bummer...
Today is my sister´s birthday. She is two years younger than I am but still has to work four more years in Germany, while I retired almost four years ago. She is not happy about it, because she wants to go back to Salzburg but can´t. Rules for retirement are bad beyond the border, and they say it will be getting worse even. Poor sister mine!
At midday hubby picked daughter up again- she wanted Gyros and baked potatoes for lunch instead of the curry she had cooked at her home. We also fed son number two, because he was out of frozen pizza. And then hubby, son and daughter slept and I did more reading, fed the cats which showed up for a visit and did absolutely not what should have been priority, which is knitting. Will do so tomorrow, when all others are on the way back to their home or working. Tomorrow will be the coldest day anyway- we will make it to twelve degrees only. Hubby activated the heating yesterday evening, when it was only 19 degrees in the livingroom and daughter had brought her uniform for washing.
Thanks to young Matthäus I have got another eye inflammation. Boy hasn´t been allowed to attend toddler group the week before family number three came for a visit, but the parents did not tell us at first. When they left on Wednesday, his mother found that the boy´s eyes were reddish again. On Friday my eyes began to itch and redden, too. I so knew it! I never get spared by such germs!
