Rain, rain, go away ...

I do have an important question: When it's only 13 degrees outside, what do we need a thunderstorm for? Surely it's already cold enough for the end of August? Even colder temperstures ahead? No, thanks! Though I fear that weather won't listen to me...
In plain English: We had four thunderstorms this day. It has been raining hard all night, all day. Lawn around the house shows some nice puddles. I am tempted to go out and mark them with sticks and tapes for us to fill those dips. Hubby pretends that he cannot find them the moment the puddles have vanished. It's more that he thinks it unnecessary to waste sand and soil for such a project!
I am dead tired today. Brought daughter to the airport, went back home, took the obligatory early morning photo, went upstairs and found idiot neighbour moving the flower pots in his garden. It was 4:30 then, pitch dark and raining hard. Those pots are in front of his twin son's windows. Poor guy won't have a decent sleep with such an idiot as a father! Back in bed I was not able to sleep, because the marten rallye on the roof was in full swing. Has been the eveninc before, too. I got up at seven- no use to stay in bed when sleep eludes me! Once again hubby searched the attic- no traces of a marten inside. Phew! I picked daughter up at the airport. We had soup for lunch then continued with the jigsaw puzzle. I wanted to do cannellini filled with sage-flavoured chicken meat for dinner. Hubby was hunting for minced chicken in the afternoon. Hard to get here! The first small streams were on the brink of overflowing, but hubby made it back home in time! Cannellini were good, but next time we will need more minced chicken! I had to fill the remaining five cannelloni with ham and cream cheese! Now I will have a short date with our TV, next to a cosy fire in the stove. It's the second last time I will have to get up at such a ungodly hour
- huzzah!
