Day five

...of daughter´s stay. We had done housework together, we had decorated (and replaced the mess we had just put away by a new load of baubles from the cellar), we had done crossword puzzles then cooked Tatanmen ramen. After a short rest for all three of us daughter packed her rucksack and a bag with groceries- and then another sleetstorm hit us. No wonder that daughter did not want out of the house! Wild horses could not even drag me out in front of our entrance door, to fasten the wooden stars to the garden fence! And I am hardier than she is! Bad enough that hubby is all-time sneezing and forgets about the Covid rules aka use the cubital fossa for it- thank you, dictionary mine, otherwise I would have had to use the word ellenbogenbeuge. Not much got done otherwise today. Even hubby was less active than usual, when you´d think he´s Duracell operated. Maybe the thing with his new chop saw does depress him, too- he will have to send it back and wait for a new one, because it´s impossible to change the saw blade. So work at number one had to get stalled...
Tomorrow the friend who did her wreath at our house last Sunday will show up again- she was almost out of the house, when she remembered that once (in early autumn) we had intended to craft festive pine trees made by cardboard wrapped round with yarn and the like. She has free space on Wednesday afternoon all of a sudden... I had hoped she´d forget about the crafting, but no! I think I will have to edit my friends list! Good that Cassian will be with us from Thursday to Saturday, and it´s not that his mother initiated the overnight stays- it was hubby! Thursday is for crafting with grandma (no clue, what we will do, but a lot of glue has to be involved, because our young man loves glueing), Friday we will go to an exhibition about volcanos, and in the afternoon we will pick aunt Lil up (hey, daughter, nice to see you again) for sushi dinner at a restaurant 30 kilometres away. And since it will be late when we return, Cassian will have another sleepover at our house, or he will wake the little monster that is his brother when going to bed. My hope is that Cassian´s mother won´t talk to her son about opening the first door of the Advent calendar, or the boy will chase us out of the bed at five in the morning, to get to see what´s inside!
