Fun with a kindergartener plus knitted stars for Christmas

There´s not much you can do, when a three-year-old is around you and there´s no one there to assist you. So I sat next to grandchild and played Playmobil on the floor. Soon after I had to accept that playing on the floor was not my best idea of spending the early evening, and we brought the toys onto the dining table. So much better! That boy is a true source of amusement. When I showed him the tiny rabbit I got for my birhday, he comforted me, because adults did not need big plush toys to sleep through- they are not afraid of the night, while toddlers often fear the darkness and need big ones. Cassian´s Hasi is not huge, but big enough to do the job of defending the little one against bad dreams. Then he told me that he wanted to be like his father when an adult. Reason for it? Daddy is allowed to drink beer. Cassian got very upset, when he did not find any advertising for beer in the leaflets. What on earth was he to do, when he was grown-up and there´s no beer available? While in bed I had a slight coughing fit. Cassian ordered me to take cough syrup before going to sleep, or I might wake him. Please note: he is the one who has a bad cough, he did not bring cough syrup with him, and it was me who had to listen to his coughing all night long. At 10.30 in the evening DiL wrote, that we were to bring her son to kindergarten in the morning. Cassian gets brought there at 7:30 by his dad. His mum thinks that bringing him herself at nine is too much an effort. I wonder, what the pre-school teacher will think about having a heavily sneezing and coughing child in the group of kindergartners. Most likely he will spread his germs all around, before he himself catches new ones.
While grandson read a book in bed, I started project "Stars for Christmas". It´s easy-peasy to do the first pattern, and you can do it even with a child next to you. I was almost done with the first star, only a few stitches missing, when the crochet hook broke. That´s what you call bad luck!



Now I need to buy transparent hardener for soft goods and a lot of pins, to bring my star into shape!
