We started with three degrees in the morning, which is fairly normal for November. Usually there should have been a few days with frost already- but not this year. It´s as if we´d have a late summer, only with the days much shorter. Novum is that in a few regions of our country we had a tropical night at the end of October, maybe as a compensation for a summer with hot days but cool nights. On Monday we will be back to fifteen degrees and even more for the next two weeks- huzzah, we will be able to visit the Christkindl market in our town, which will start next Friday, shurt-sleeved! Heavy rain started around midday, so heavy that it made it into the conservatory again. Not much, but still... There´s nothing wrong with the roof itself, it´s the part where roof connects to wall, where the excess of water, caused by a clogged gutter, makes it into the tiny crack that leads into the conservatory. Hubby, it´s your turn! Clear the gutter out, please, and put some of your favourite silicone into the crack no one can see but has to be there...
I had ordered plums and apples for the cake for the Halloween party, and used way more of the fruits as intended, with Cassian and Elsa as helpers (eaters). I do not like stewed fruit, but with only six plums and two apples left, I decided to do Topfenknödel with compote. Hubby liked his lunch, son did, too. Me? Not so much. I do not like sweet things except for chocolate, and chocolate I got aplenty yesterday evening, when son arrived. He works at a supply firm for groceries in his study-free time, and before goods expire, they give it to the staff. Last week son got four huge steaks he did for dinner, with varyingside dishes, and before he went home, his boss gave him three Lindt chocolate boxes. Since daüghter will come for a visit tomorrow, she will get two of the boxes. She loves chocolate as much as I do. Son asked for fondue for tomorrow´s lunch, and hubby readily agreed- chicken filet is in the fridge, pork filet in the freezer, and both freezer and fridge are filled to the brim. My part is to do some dips and eat. Makes more time for me to do exactly nothing. Reading is no option, as is watching TV. when your eyes are caked. At least my friend called, and we talked for more than an hour. I now have a stiff neck, and my wrists hurts from holding my mobile for so long, but the chitchat was worth the discomfort!
