Forget about what I said!
Yesterday I complained about not enough rain. This night we got the precious wetness from above, a lot of it. In fact, so much that part of it made it into the conservatory. So at three in the morning I took the mop, wiped the mess up and put towels onto the floor to catch the water. Then I made me the first cup of coffee of the day. The drive to the airport was uneventful, as always, save for the huge puddles on the streets and two more building sites on the way, which is a bit unnerving, when one gets to see those for the first time in the dark of the night! Hubby did a marvellous job at keeping me awake last evening- he came to bed half an hour earlier than usual and woke me, when I was about dozing off- I went to bed early in hope of an early sleep. There was a lot of turning over and over again before hubby slept- and I was wide awake then. Same when I got back to bed- I was on my way to status off when he switched to on. There went my after-driving nap! I am glad that I can cope with not enough sleep realtively well, because there'll be a da capo this night!
To say that I was not very willing to do additional housework should be understandable. Yet some chores had to be done, because tomorrow number one plus family (including the new family member) will come for a first official visit. Until now Konrad and his mum had a good many visits to the hospital for testing the state of the boy´s jaundice. Son says that it´s because he has been born so early. Good God, two weeks early does not make for a preemie! And he weighed over three kilo! Number one´s weight at birth was two kilo and a few dekagram! So I scrubbed the bathroom on the ground floor and the fronts of the kitchen furniture then went upstairs for reading. Hubby was off shopping, so blessed silence!
While the soup for lunch was defrosting I did the baklava- I did not know how easy this turned out, and when we tasted it it was really good- so enough cake for tomorrow! No need for buying donuts, a thing hubby always does when we get visits! I cannot stand donuts, those always give me stomachache!
Weather went from super warm and cosy to cold during day- while we were up to eight degrees in the morning we are down to four now- hubby had to light the wood stove, even more so since he had hung the washing up in the living room! And even if I might be in bed early, I do not want to feel cold in front of the TV, and cold I always feel when tired!
