I won the bet

And yet hubby reacted differently than I expected. DiL called at eleven and asked hubby to pick the boys up. And, of course, have us keep them until her husband would be back from the bureau. She has streptococca, she said. Hubby told her that he thinks that I have them, too- no wonder, since the boys had been with us last Tuesday and Wednesday, and on Thursday Flavius fell ill. And two days later a sore throat began to plague me. DiL was not amused, but I was. Even more so since doctors here tend to prescript antibiotics in advance for those close to a streptococca patient, so DiL will feel significantly better come tomorrow.
I did not do much today. Going outside? Definitely not, we only made it up to eight degrees, and it was raining all day long. Doing housework? All done yesterday, and vacuuming is hubby's job. Also no cooking of lunch, because number one has done nine!!! kilo pulled pork in the smoker and gifted us two. All in the freezer now except for today's lunch portion. So I listened to neighbour scraping the tiles off his veranda, while I continued with crocheting. Finally the end is near- I am doing the first side of the fringe. My fingers are not amused, crocheting with real wool at high room temperatures made lots of blisters burgeon. Now we are back to not so cosy temperatures- heating had to get turned on so that we made it to meagre 21 degrees in the living room- but harm has already be done. Well, one more day and the shawl will be finished.
In the afternoon hubby was off for a while. When he came back he showed me a photo of the new tiles he had ordered for our terrace- long overdue, but now it's done! Now we have two weeks to remove the old tiles- I will have to say thanks to our neighbour, who reminded hubby that he has promised new tiles- five years ago...
