Back to business as usual

Got up at half past seven, made breakfast (without sausages), had a long, hot shower- no clue why the hot water in hotels is only moderately hot- then retreated to the bedroom for more resting, because I did not sleep so well during night. The funny thing is that the nightly sounds here are more alarming than the ones in big towns. Even when the windows are closed, because hubby thinks it's too cold outside. We have drunks caterwauling now and then, we have cars, we have trains, and the worst thing we have is wildlife. No police car or fire engine will jerk me out of sleep as quickly as two foxes fighting in the garden. Or martens doing the rooftop dance- that's even worse. It was raining all day long, and it was too cool, twelve degrees. This May's weather is awful! Later in the morning I did a quick kitchen cleaning and prepared Korean one pot with daughter. Then a former colleague called, we are in for another breakfast at a coffee shop nearby. We won't join the pensioner gang at the end of June- no need to see some faces we both dislike. Glazier showed up to measure out what he needs for the canopy. He wants to start work in three weeks. Hopefully the roofer will arrive first, to repair the gutter and the gable! Daughter is back to her flat now, and hubby is in a concert. I should store the dried clothes, instead I am going through the pictures I took during our trip- way better than house work!
