About the shopping tour

The roofers came at seven in the morning. I managed to play dead for a while, but hubby needed my advice- never a good thing in the morning, when the only things I want are my double coffee, some sandwich and the daily. And then he told me that he needed my car for transport of timber... I called my friend and told me I had to cancel the trip. But- wonders will never cease- she decided that she'd do the driving. I am far from a perfect driver, but this... was worse than a ghost train ride. People like my friend should no more be in possession of a driver license. She cut in in front of other cars thrice. She overran kerbs. She did not find the way back to the motorway, we had to make a U- turn, and then she almost missed the ramp again. My knees wobbled when I got out of the car! When she went for the silver cleaning cloth in the shop, because her silverware needed a good thorough cleaning, I almost had a meltdown. Turned out that it was the fifth time in a row that she came back without cloth. Must have forgotten about it on her way to the section. We did not make it to the coffee shop- friend wanted to see the new terrace (at least her nosiness is still strong)- so I bought cake. If she would have bought it, we'd have to cope with dinkel wheat cake- dry, dryer, dryest! Even hubby noticed that something isn't quite right with friend's brain, and this says a lot!
The roofers finished while the three of us had coffee and lots of cake. Husband mine has an epic sunburn, because he did not put on a shirt when tiling. I might sleep in the guestroom tonight, because sunburn means a lot of tossing and turning, and all I want is sleep! Last night was filled with strange dreams, in one of them I had to take an examination together with my sister who looked like my daughter. One of the questions was Why is a GDR lorry so much quicker on the waterway than on the highway? Sorry, but that's ridiculous! I passed the examination but am still pondering the right answer...
On Monday the terrace work should be finished- the glass we ordered has arrived at the glazier. He would have installed it today but couldn't, because the roofers were still working. Might have ended with smashed glass and another nervous breakdown on my part...
