Thank heavens, it's over
Family number three packed suitcases in the morning. Their dad was still asleep in the guestroom (mum and dad must have switched places in the early morning, when Elsa and Matthäus were awake while he was not ready for an early getting up- he slept on the couch in the TV nook). Son came back from a meeting with his friends at two in the morning- one more reason for DiL to be peeved. With her husband back DiL's mood improved considerably. Good for us, but not good enough. Now we were back to quiet, which felt like sheer heaven. Elsa's device is Being loud for the sake of being loud. As soon as she notices someone doing conversation she bangs in, even if she does not have something of importance to tell. Very loud, extremely annoying- that's Elsa to a T. When she and her brother maltraited the piano in the guestroom I sent them off (number four, whose room is above the guestroom, was still asleep). Five minutes later they were at it again. There's no No for Elsa, I think she does not even know this word exists.
At first hubby wanted to go out for lunch, but neither son nor daughter nor I were ready for this. Daughter had had a horrible work day yesterday- there had been a defect plane blocking the runway, so other planes had to land in Linz and passengers had to be brought there for departure. Chaos pure, angry tourists- daughter decided to stay in bed and sleep her frustration off. So hubby did lunch himself- alternative burgers (hubby meant burgers as an alternative to going out for dining). Alternative, indeed, because hubby did fried onions simmered in wine and chilli sauce, but confused brown sugar with rice (wrappers are similar).
Before we had lunch sis called and announced that her family would come for a visit in the afternoon- her husband, my niece, my nephew. She would stay at home, because she got hit by a heavy cold and was aware that I have a weak immune systeme. This fact in combination with asthma does never bode well when confronted with a cold virus. But another family visit meant more brewing coffee, serving cake and cookies, more stress. My stress level is still at the high end of the scala and won't go down anytime soon, should our house get attacked by visitors further on! One or two days, that's all I'd need to recover...
