This month...
...will be the one my car was in the carport mostly, and hubby´s parked on my parking space, so that all who wanted to deliver newspaper, mail and Amazon orders were able to do so by driving into the free parking space and did not have to risk their bones in case they´d slip on those darn sheets of ice no amount of salt or hacking were able to eliminate. Thank heavens that the worst cold is gone now. it was a dark day today, but definitely warmer...
This morning I did the test- hubby got up at five minutes to eight, I went down twenty minutes later- and indeed, my husband had waited with breakfast until I arrived. He does not like having breakfast alone. Good for him that I wasn´t in fighting mode, though breakfasting with hubby always means that one has to fight for butter, ham and cheese, because he hoards those on his side of the table like Smaug his pile of gold.
After a long shower I started new project black and white. I spent a lot of time in front of my PC, scouring Pinterest for ideas and finally changed plans. Since husband volunteered to cook lunch (it´s more that I refused to do so, because I don´t do recipes with creamed spinach) I was able to start my project early, though I soon noticed that with a wool quite thin (same with the needles) winter might be over before I´ll finish. Especially since trying to knit with wool so black at artificial light is neigh impossible. Husband mine might have heard some swearwords, when I had to do the same row five times, before I gave up. Good that hubby´s salmon on creamed spinach packed in puff pastry came out of the oven quite late. It was acceptable, quite good even, but a tad over-seasoned, as always. This time the culprit was nutmeg- hubby used the wrong opening of the caster. It´s not that I haven´t told him to not season over the frying pan, because it´s always me who has to clean the darn thing, when it clogs because of the steam. Before I was even able to consider an after-lunch rest one of our neighbours came for a visit. I almost had a heart attack- it was the lady who had broken her arm on New Year´s Eve, so naturally she came by foot. That lady must be suicidal, our street resembles a skating ground! Hubby was nice and brought her back home after a lengthy coffee session, so that she would not take another fall. Meanwhile I decided to answer mails (I do so once a week, now and then missing important ones which did not make it into my main mail account) then called it a day. At least I know now when my car will be off- it´s Tuesday that hubby will help Dil with her paintings, and probably with the boys in the afternoon...
