Bad jigsaw

Blessedly my recent and very strange movie watching habits did not influence my dreams- I have slept like a log during the last nights. But, of course, I did get up a bit earlier than usual, having a quiet breakfast, reading the dailies, and when hubby got up I already had started doing housework. I finished quite early, since no grandchildren had been here to turn everything upside down for some days- sorry, Oscar and Xaver, but your cousins are well aware that doing a visit also includes tidying away the things one has played with! Not even hubby had dared to bring anyone in! Daughter and I watched the final HP, the task she had set for herself must have been to frighten me as often as possible- and she succeeded! Then we had a look into the Grindelwald series and said no, thanks. Daughter had wanted to return back to her flat before lunch, alas, her parcel from Amazon was late, very late. The guy who was delivering must have had a very long break, the signal of his car did not move for nearly an hour. Maybe late lunch time, who knows, those guys have a hard job to carry out! When the parcel was here, it was almost evening. Daughter left in a hurry, she has still a lot of work to do for college!
Hubby was quite mad at me when I told him that he should not do grocery shopping twice a day then rant that we have too much food at home. He wants to cook, but only things that need a lot of things involved we do not have here. So when I told him that in at least eighty percent one could replace one item by another one he was miffed- sorry, I did not tell him to cook from scratch, but would it have been that hard taking dried mushrooms instead of fresh ones? And, for once, he could have replaced arborio rice with sushi rice, of which we have aplenty in the house. But no, as always...
Hubby had to go to family number one in the afternoon, to watch over Xaver, whose parents had a date with the headmaster of the primary school. Xaver did not do so well at the entrance test, but that´s solely his mother´s fault, who treated him like a baby five long years then decided that she had had enough baby but needed a schoolboy all of a sudden. All is good now, he will enter the first class and not the preschool. Good luck with this endeavour!
I started a new jigsaw in the afternoon, and daughter helped me sort the border pieces out. I must say that I never possessed a jigsaw so lousily manifactured. Two pieces out of ten needed instant trimming, because the backside came partially loose. The carpet soon was covered with tiny, blue flakes of paper, and there´s more to come! Something went seriously wrong with the process of punching I fear! I am contemplating to write a complaint letter to Santa, who brought me the jigsaw...

Now that was fairly quick

As always on Ash Wednesday one of my friends sent me pictures of their company´s carnival party. This year the staff dressed as Vikings. I told her that maybe her vikings should eat less chips or grow a bit taller. Five minutes later I had three proposals for groups favouring Vikings on Facebook. I really hate it when they do this! I haven´t posted on FB in ages, only use it to have a look into LotR and Silmarillion groups with all those illustrations. Maybe I should simply delete my account and search elsewhere for pretty pictures!
Since the day started with sunshine I continued with the jigsaw but found not that many pieces. Tried again, when clouds had come up, and found even less. But our conservatory has a big plus- an electric heater, in case temperatures are too low when I want to do jigsaws. I spent a lot of time in the conservatory today! That´s because hubby´s newest activity is read the weather forecast in the morning, go down to the boiler room and adjust the temperature of the heating. I so wish that the temperatures they said we´d get will finally show up, but there´s a not so slight discrepancy between forecast and reality. It´s 20 degrees in the living room now, not exactly a temperature to feel comfortable! What´s even worse is that I just found out that the radiator in the studio is leaking. Not much, but it needs mending, which means that the heating will be totally off tomorrow morning and will stay off, until hubby has finished repair work. That´s what you get when you order designer radiators for your house- okay, happened almost thirty years ago, but the problems started soon after, when the designer was already out of business. But I have to admit, they still look nice!
No crocheting got done for three days in a row. Not proud of myself, but my fingers need some time to recover! My guess that finishing time will be around Easter might come true. Then there´s the cover for the dormer windows I want to do. As of yet I have done six squares. Will need four more, then comes the fun part- I have to improvise the slant part of the window, which is not so easy with Tunesian crocheting, because I only know the basics. Youtube to the rescue! And quick, please! It gets brighter and brighter with each passing day, but I need my beauty sleep. Especially since I woke up at four in the morning, after having been in a Severus Snape loop in my dream. That´s because when jigsawing daughter had turned Potterpuppetpals-the mysterious ticking noise on on YT, which is mind-bendingly stupid, alas, you won´t get it out of your poor brain, if you listened too often, and that´s what we have done!
