Eurovision Song Contest

Right now I feel kind of offended. Did someone really call those fancy pants of Cesar Simpson a tribute to a fallen Naugahyde sofa, while it´s a homage to our beloved traditional leather shorts commonly called Krachlederne, though in the singer´s case without embroidered fly? We do not skin Naugahyde sofas (at least I hope so)! And who the heck is Craig David, though I also could ask who the heck is Cesar Sampson? I don´t get it that some people won´t acknowledge the cultural importance of Dirndl, Lederhosen and yodelling! Even Japanese singers now indulge in the beauty of alpine art of singing, which easily may be watched on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUf1xJ80nes.
For the sake of brevity I only want to say that I was very envious to not be able to watch this song contest, because hubby´s Lenovo died the day before together with our internet connection, so he was watching TV instead of surfing the World Wide Web, and ESC is a no go for him. I always shall treasure those memories of former ESCs spent in front of TV with precious daughter mine, together with chips and coke, the floor strewn with cushions should one of us fall off the sofa in a fit of laughter! Hubby and the rest of the family went online again yesterday morning while I still was doomed to a life offline, so today I took matters in hand myself and climbed the ladder to get a better view of our router, and look what I found! Those self-declared internet technicians aka hubby and sons had simply forgotten to plug in my cable! Whoot, I´m online again!

That is exactly how we always approach it - even though the daughter has now left home and does this with others :)

You can´t do this with sons, though I have tried. Men and especially TV hosts take the whole event way too seriously, though son at least was able to come upon a radio station which broadcasted more to our taste, so for some years we watched the show on TV while listening to Stermann& Grissemann on FM4. Oh dear, where has the time gone?
