Ouch!

After the big hubbub, when number three and family had left by car and number four had been brought to the train station I decided to have breakfast on the terrace, even though it was still fairly cool outside- we had 14 degrees at seven in the morning, so our sleep had been be undisturbed by heat with the windows open, only the rooster up the hill woke me twice. One day, I swear, I will get him and feed him to my cooking pot together with mirepoix! As usual none of those who had breakfast early had put things back to the right place. Maybe this and the fact that it was pretty early did vex me, and my temperament got a bit out of hand, but seeing the bread lying on the worktop with a cat like Namo next to it who gnaws at all edible things made me more angry than I should have been. I grabbed bread and milk rolls and threw them into the bread bin. Or lets say I tried so, but bread landed not in the box but on the lid that had been carelessly placed in front of the box. Lid is heavy, made of solid wood, and I can tell you, it hurts very much when it lands on your toes! Two toes are swollen and purple but I can move them- a bit. My foot does not fit into my shoe, and walking is painful even in flip-flops. How convenient that I do not have plans for the upcoming week save than taking care of Cassian! Unfortunately hubby is off supervising reparation work in my sister“s flat, because her daughter, who lives there, has gotten sick after the second Covid vaccination and now stays with her friend, who will take care of her. That does mean that auntie Lil will get sent to the front, to keep the youngster in line! I am not sure if she will like this arrangement!

Oh, poor you! Get better, soon! I once dropped a 1.5 l bottle of mineral water on my toes, so I can relate. Hopefully, nothing is broken. My friend Elise managed to break her foot by dropping an entire frozen chicken onto it.

Hubby is about to drive me to the hospital to let them make an x-ray. At least they know how to tape a toe. Tried to do so yesterday, ended up in disaster.
