Ouch!

I did my daily posting while hubby and son left for town, the bigger one. Meanwhile it had begun to pour. I shut down the PC and wanted to charge my mobile, and boom- no power. That made me nervous, and I had a look into the cellar. Oh my, I was wading in icecold water. Sirens from outside. Hubby came back, and we worked for three hours. We are spent. And it has begun to pour again...



That's how the inner city of our town looks like after the downpour...

It has been bad here, and still is, because rain won´t give up easily, but Germany has been hit worst. 160 dead, and still people missing...

Oh God, so sorry to hear that! We've been lucky yesterday, but my friend Evie has several centimetres of water in her cellar, too — in a house that's slowly sliding from the hilltop where it had been built quite a few decades ago. In times like this I realize that living in a 10-storey concrete monstrosity isn't the worst thing in the world. Even if we live on the second floor...

It has been a worrisome night for many here. Living on the second floor is the least you need for floodings like these!
