Royally pissed

Today I did the trip to Germany during the first winter storm. It was no fun having to drive with an iron grip on the steering wheel or I´d end up in the roadside ditch. At home I unpacked the goods, embroidery threads among it. At the shop I already noticed that something was amiss but could not pinpoint what it was. Then I started embroidering and searched for the white thread, and immediately knew what had confused me.Those threads come in fours, and the new batch has different combinations of colours. Now I have red threads aplenty but no white ones. I am definitely not ready to do another trip over the border. Right now I am fuming at myself, because, you know, I should have checked the content of the packages!

One doesn't expect the content of packages to change. I've fallen into similar traps repeatedly. I hope you'll find a solution nonetheless — if not exactly the one you've envisioned.

I think that maybe I will combine the yarn with an oldfashioned non-mercerised sewing cotton I have in my sewing box.
