Problem figured out

All squares for the big blanket are done. Tomorrow will be stitch-together time. I was not able to do so today, because grandson had so much fun by exchanging the squares I had put on the floor, to see which combination would be best, that I did not want to disturb him in his play. Now I can indeed start with the baby blanket. Wool will be the same I used for Flavius´s blanket, five different colours, and thanks to [livejournal.com profile] curiouswombat I now know how to upgrade the pattern by inserting stars let´s say every second stocking stitch square! I have plenty of time to finish the blanket, but since my wrists are prone to arthritis and the like I better start early and work only a few rows a day!

That´s the original pattern. I think I will have to do more stitches per each square and will keep to one colour per row of squares, but I am open to suggestions!
It was freezing cold outside today and will stay so during night (it´s already minus eight), but from tomorrow on we will have spring again. Sun has been out all day long, conservatory was so warm that we had to tear open the windows, or my plants might suffer from heat stroke, and despite the cold outside the birds must be in mating mood already. Oh dear, what a chirping concert we got to hear this morning!

Hopefully it will turn out the way it´s supposed to look like!

That is a lovely blanket pattern. I have been knitting in individual squares to make it easier to carry with me — but I am not looking forward to the sewing up.
