"Sometime they´ll give a war and nobody will come."(Carl Sandberg)
Now one could rewrite the quotation into "Sometime they´ll write a book and nobody will read."
Might happen, if a selected group of writers finally release a book for publication, and there´s next to no promotion! I only got wind of it when I accidentally came across an entry of one of the community´s members, where she vaguely implied a possible release date of a new anthology- then silence- until yesterday, when I learned the book was already available, although not on Amazon, and certainly not as e-book. So I went to FB, because there´s another community, though an even smaller one, and yes, there were a few entries concerning the book, but no exact release date, not enough about the topic, and I certainly won´t go through totally unknown accounts to get more information! Plus I really hate FB, don´t use it anymore save for cases of emergency! So why maintain a community on LJ, when no one feels obliged to post about a book members would eventually buy? There are two possibilities: Either the community members aren´t worthy enough to read the stories, or the whole book isn´t worth reading. Now which is worse?

In a way, both are equally bad.

That´s exactly what I thought, therefore I won´t buy the book.

Yeah it's sad for the author but let's face it - if the author doesn't think it had merit, then why bother?
