Cross stitching to calm my nerves?
Sep. 30th, 2021 07:49 pmI am supposed to resume my embroidery project, after all it´s roughly eight weeks until the beginning of advent. But embroidering is hard work when there´s a little one you have to take care of and you never know if and when he´ll show up at your house. Today it was me and Cassian mostly, because husband had some errands to run. Then one of our neighbours showed up (the one who did not open the door to the widow yesterday evening but was very interested in what exactly had happened- she had phoned her but apparently only got the basics). As if I´d know much about the tragedy! But the main reason why neighbour showed up was because she wanted to tell me she had decided that we should not buy a bouquet for the funeral but do an autumnal floral arrangement for the gravesite some time later. Which means she´ll buy cheap flowers at the discount store, jam them into some wicker from the flea market and present me a bill as if that absurdity got done in a flower shop. I am used to her ways. We all here are used to her ways. She has a minimum pension, earns additional 160 Euros a week for eight hours of work and sells things she bought at church flea markets for five times as much twice a week. Not moral at all, but a great way to come into money! Hubby, who had left after preparing lunch (very nice of him) had a fit when he heard this. After all he and the deceased often had beer on our terrace while they were waiting for his wife and me return from a shopping trip. Bouquet is ordered, hubby´s peace of mind is well again, and now back to embroidery: After napping Cassian climbed out of the bed and joined me in the studio, where I was working on my Christmas project. At first I thought he´d soon be bored with watching me put threads into a needle and poke into the linen. But then he saw the pattern I follow on the monitor and was totally floored. He so loves Christmas trees! There´s a lot of it to be seen on the video clips he watches. Well, Lego and Co need to bring their Christmas articles on the market, the sooner the better! Though it will take some time until I will come this far he now knows that one day there´ll be a tree and presents to be seen, and then he will love the pillow case even more! Elsa will love it, too. Not so sure about Oscar and Xaver, they did not even get a tree last year, but tons of presents instead!
