The time has come yet again

It´s pool cleaning time again! Hubby has been a nervous wreck all week long, awaiting the first day with warmer temperatures. Not even Cassian´s presence would deter him from starting the yearly project of dragging off the metal sheets we had bought for sheltering the pool in winter. Pool is quite old, coming from years when we had winters, real ones, with lots of snow that often had damaged the plastic domes they sold back then, so hubby went for a more durable method to cover the huge hole in the garden. Cassian and aunt Lil did count what had found an untimely death in the water during winter- four mice, dozens of frogs and two birds. Please do not ask me about the birds, I do not know the way they made it under the covering, they must have hopped through the real tiny gaps at the front side. At the moment hubby is working against the weather and the clock- he has to stop the pump at ten (we have neighbours), but weather says that tomorrow there´ll be a lot of rain and cold. And then there´s Romanian Easter...
Today I made Korean fried chicken and honey lemon chicken out of five pounds of chicken wings, to show son how to do this. Still no deep fryer in the house, so I skipped the second frying round and put the wings into the oven for the second heating. Works well enough for us! The only problem is that our house now smells like McDonalds!
Other than that I have started a new attempt on a sun hat. Without pattern this time, just going with my guts. I want to knit the hat top-down and did not find a pattern for this. Now let´s see if my gut works better than those patterns I have already tried out!
