Crossword puzzle disaster
Jan. 29th, 2024 06:21 pm Hubby gifted me two books with crossword puzzles for Christmas, and after some serious cleaning activities they vanished and were not to be seen, at least until daughter, who loves doing crossword puzzles, bought a new booklet. Books got found, but we decided to use daughter´s for doing crossword in the afternoon. Today we had a late lunch- doing Korean chicken wings with quick? kimchi took some time, and hubby was not exactly helpful but blocked the kitchen island again and again. He´s very busy at the moment, with readying pork for making one last batch of bacon. So after having an after-lunch rest up in the studio while having a talk with daughter dearest we went down to the living room for doing crosswords. Alas- those crosswords are more difficult than any we had before. Much laughter, yes, succeeding not so much! We will try again tomorrow morning, before I will do a trip over the border with her, to buy cosmetic products she needs, and most of all- her birthday present! There are two shops she will scour for it, I am pretty sure that one will have it. We will have lunch at the pizzeria then back to Salzburg it will be, so that I can drop her at her flat. Her birthday is on Saturday, unfortunately also a workday for her, so no big party this year. Not so bad, she says, she will go out with her colleagues and party during semester break, when her friends will be in town. There´s two more birthdays the girls will have to celebrate belatedly!
Today I brought the organic waste to the bin. Back in the kitchen I thought I´d seen a cat in the living room- except that we do not have cats at the moment. Daughter came down from her room and found Schnuckele, neighbour´s Tuxedo cat, perched on hubby´s office chair. Schnuckele has been watching the going-ons in our house from the kitchen window for days now- today she grabbed the chance and explored the house from the inside. Things might get interesting, when the warm season will be here and the doors to the terrace open all day long, because Schnuckele has two young ones, who are already playing catch in our garden...
