Days get shorter, and my need for sleep gets stronger with the lack of daylight. So I did a bit of cleaning then a bit of cooking, did a lot of sneezing and coughing (yes, sneeze is back, and cough has never left) then made myself comfortable on the guestbed, to watch the Küchenschlacht. Only that I did not watch the show but ran for my mobile, because yesterday, after the daily crime show, I had darted to the bedroom, to write birthday wishes to number four. But I brushed my teeth, fell into the bed and slept five minutes later. So son got his wishes one day late, he won´t complain. At least I hope so. Afterwards I turned the tablet PC on in search of a cooking recipe for green tomatoes- there´s still a lot of them on the plants I do not want to dispose of, but there´s not enough warmth left to let them ripen. Now I have watched a lot of videos about the sendoff of the late Queen, so Youtube guessed that I might still be interested and sent me a lot of suggestions about what has happened on Monday. Sentimental as I am in autumn, I clicked on one of the clips, this one done by CNN news. As usual, each time the coffin came into play and with it the roared orders of those who command the pallbearers (that word alone should have let the penny drop), there was the term I thought most inappropriate for a Royal funeral- the barrow party. I don´t know how often I have pondered why someone would call the funeral cart a barrow, it was not that ugly! And then I had a look at the subtitles, which I blessedly had turned on the day before- finally the correct word! Bearer party! And the commentator did pronounce the word in a way even I was able to understand!
The right front part of Cassian´s jacket is now indeed finished. Last time I wrote about it, I did not see that I had cut the fir tree short- two rows missing, so I had to unravel quite a lot of rows and knit them again. Bad luck, as always with this poject! Today I have done maybe a third of the left part, means that it might or might not get finished tomorrow, and then I have to decide about the inner lining...
