...at least, I think so. Weather was cold and wet again, the snow line was coming down dangerously, visible on the hills nearby, so I opted for a lazy day, that was until I remembered that I had a date with the hairdresser (vulgo headmaster by our family´s terms). I brought a new shampoo back home, quite expensive but most likely a waste of money- if it only were so easy to enforest lost hair!
Back home I quickly dressed for chilling and turned my PC on- it was hubby´s turn to do lunch, while I did what I can do best- being lazy! A former collegue of me, retired as I am but still involved with our school by leading the choir now and then, asked me if I would do some musical piece, movie themed, if possible. Problem is that I do not watch movies very often. And those I watch do have great music, but way too complicated for me to create a piece for choir. But yesterday, while I was browsing Amazon and goíng through Bonnie Barker´s crochet page, I had HP soundtrack running along. And all of a sudden I listened to a song I liked, a real song with text and all, and did a longer re-run. It´s short, it´s sounds kind of sad, and I think I neverheard it in the films. It´s called In Noctem, if you are interested! Today I dug out my music notation programme and started with the first section of the score. I know that this will take quite a while, but my friend wants to start with it only after summer break for the winter concert. Her students are lame, but hopefully not so lame that they won´t be able to pull this off!
Needless to say that not much got done today, after I had set my mind on writing music. Not that I have achieved much, it´s more the re-relearning of the technique, plus not forgetting how to save the things you have written. The first two tries I successfully sacrificed to the God of Dementia...
