..for the next thunderstorm to trundle in. Yesterday´s was mostly loud and stormy, blessedly not too much rain. To make you aware of how much rain we had this summer there is the fact that hubby had to put a whole new bag salt into the pool a week ago- usually he throws half a bag of what´s left from spring salting in the water at the end of the month, if at all. This spring he had put all the salt in in knowledge of the "greatness" of our last summers, and now he had to buy more, because all that rain had greatly diluted salinity. No wonder that I was slipping in the water!Hubby was off to son´s in the early morning. One tour he did cycle to free the cats, the next he did by car, having bought more bricks for the plateau where son wants to have a garden hat. While I was preparing lunch early to be able to enjoy a last hot day at the pool, family number one announced their willingness to join hubby and me with pool sitting. Of course, I did not fob them off. I only thought "Poor hubby, more Palatschinken". It was nice, not too loud, and when they left all toys had been stored in the boxes they belong. The only thing that got a bit damaged was my hearing. Oscar always tries to play songs on our piano, never using the black keys. No one is allowed to help him. At one point I refused to leave the pool, because I was no more able to listen to a foozled Happy Birthday song. Oscar´s father has been an apt piano player, played Chopin sonatas and the like at the age of ten, started with basketball then, broke a finger two times, and at the age of fourteen he played neither piano nor basketball anymore. That´s life!
We had one full hour of blessed silence, before it finally began to overcast. Hubby did a quick drive to the shop- tomorrow there´s a church holiday here and beyond the border- then went to retrieve son´s cats. While it was storming outside hubby sighted last night´s images- the mouse delivery service is in full swing. This time Schnuckele brought the mouse, deposited it on the mat in front of the terrace door- one hour later marten came to pick it up. Hubby will send the images to my Whatsapp account tomorrow- not that you may think I am doing tall stories!
