There´s one stage play I wanted to see with sister mine- Der aufhaltsame Aufstieg des Arturo Ui. I could have a ticket for Tuesday, a free one at that, because of niece, who had been working at the Landestheater. Now guess who has to take care of the boys this day? Well, me, of course. And hubby, as soon as he is back from a meeting with a friend. But husband mine has never been that good with children. No patience at all, more acting like a dictator, which does not work well with children of every age. So it´s impossible for me to leave him alone with the boys. Besides, they go to bed at the same time but never sleep in the same room. Bringing them to bed is easy when there´s two people doing the job. I can understand DiL´s woes, but that´s what you get in case you have children, and it´s her offspring and her job to fulfill and not ask others to do so. So I had to tell sis that I was not able to come with her, and she wants her daughter to try for more cards in June.
After freezing through the night- I had the window open at five degrees- I got up early, had breakfast, had a shower- and then I plummeted back onto the bed and read for more than one hour, while hubby vacuumed the ground floor. T´was his time to do so. Vacuuming is not my favourite chore, we still are not in possession of a vacuum with hepa filter, so I am sneezing along prettily when cleaning. Weather got better and warmer to begin with, and I refilled the bird feeders around the house, in hope that the little buggers might chirp less instead feed more. Seriously, at the moment the first singers show up before the newspaper deliverer, and their favourite location for performance is the big spruce near our bedroom window. Excellent choice for them, not so much for hubby and me! When I quit reading I turned the TV on for the Holy Father´s funeral. It was nice to see pictures of Rome again- way too long that I have been there, and quite likely that I won´t get there another time. That fact alone made me mope for the rest of the morning, and I lost all interest in dressing up for clothes shopping, even though hubby had volunteered to do lunch (toasts only). After napping I moped a bit more (yes, I am good at it!), at least until hubby asked me if there was a special reason for my behaviour, and what he might do to improve my mood. Salvation came in form of a leaflet, where my favourite ice was on offer, which hubby promptly bought. Moping me must be scary! After ice time I started with the undecorating of Easter. Most of the eggs retired to the big box, the windows and shelves are cleared from bunnies and the like. Looks a bit odd now without decoration! Since the weather was quite nice in the later afternoon I went outside and found that one of the old zinc tubs was still alive and well, well hidden behind huge flower pots so that hubby forgot to dispose of it. Tomorrow I will drag it to the carport, fill it with flower soil and put the bulbs of the early bloomers into it. No need to gift them all to DiL! So first thing on Monday: new shirts and trousers. Second thing: Flowers for the tub. And thyme. Thyme is good for bees...
