We are to get THREE warm days in a row! At not even ten in the morning we were up to sixteen degrees, though it was still raining. Apparently last week temperatures never climbed over thirteen degrees- funny weather for May, even though today's newspaper told us that there'd been way worse May weather in former years and that we are on the upper end of mean temperatures again. When did this happen, and where have I been to miss it? Because our heating habit says something quite different!
In the morning I cooked Teriyaki sauce for the salmon. Easily done, and I am so fed up with having to buy those expensive little flasks which last for three to four meals only. Not even our local Chinese market has bigger ones for sale. Nothing new on the knitting front. I decided upon an easy knitting pattern using the elongated stitches every tenth row. Easy and airy, just made for summer tops. What I do not know is how wide I will do the top- son has not yet measured granddaughter...
After lunch we drove to son number two. Today it´s Cassian´s sixth birthday, and despite the fact that he got the new bike we bought him on the day of his party, so that his friends were able to marvel at it (green and silver, with gear shift), he got two more presents- a microscope for children and a radar box he can use when doing his bike races. And a piñata filled with chocolate, candy and toy cars. Took the boy about ten minutes to get to the content. And five to drive his parents up the wall, when he turned the radar on in the living room. I did not even know how fast those rascals can run to activate the sound... We did not stay long, because hubby intended to paint the upper surface of the canopy. But we had coffee and cake and a glass of prosecco plus got lots of information about what we are supposed to take care of the next two weeks. Tomorrow hubby will pick the family up at eight thirty and bring them to the train station. They will go to Vienna airport for their flight to Tunisia. Which means that for the next two weeks either hubby or I will have to do the drive to their house twice a day to catch or set free the cats. I already hate it...
