Short entry
Feb. 12th, 2026 07:31 pm I got up at three, left the house half an hour later at perfect weather- two degrees, star-bright. On the way back home star-bright had turned into pea soup fog. Not funny! Real getting-up time was at eight. First I postponed meeting up with my friend to Friday- two days of getting up so early have rendered me completely useless. I had breakfast, a quick shower and after showering some reading time. I also had a look at my favourite Youtube Channels. Haven´t done this for quite a while. I was very frustrated that some of them are hard-core Trump supporter channels. Had to unfriend them immediately- see, I have some moral standards! Folks, I would never have realised (I mostly watch with the sound turned to minimum and with one eye only, the other is usually otherwise occupied) if I hadn´t looked at the comments, which were eye-opening. So frustrating! Afterwards I darned the scarf in, fixed the head, but still no eyes. I could take the black buttons off hubby´s trousers, but I fear he might be mightily peeved then. Since the weather was so warm and sunny I started work in the garden. Hubby helped me with the panicled hydrangea- he pruned, I told him where to prune. Oh yes, hubby and I are a well attuned team- on occasion.
I had to do cheese spaetzle for lunch- daughter had found a box with shredded cheese that had expired a few days ago. At least, lunch cooking was a quick affair. More resting got done after lunch, in the bedroom, with the windows wide open. It felt like spring then, but only until we got pretty high winds later in the afternoon. I was tempted to grade the flying altitude of the plastic items, which crossed the garden (must have watched Olympic snowboarding too long yesterday evening)! That was before hubby dashed outside and confiscated them. He´s such a spoilsport! The strong winds brought heavy rain, but it´s still way too warm outside for this time of the year. I won´t complain, heating won´t complain, hubby won't complain about the heating bill...
