It´s Thursday. It´s holiday. It´s cold outside and raining (what a surprise!). Best day ever to help my daughter with papers for school. So I am sitting in front of my PC, surfing the WWW for facts about the Chinese steel industry round 1940. Outcome: zero. Zilch. Nix. Nada. Anyone out there with a constructive advice how to approach the problem? My nerves are quite frayed after spending so much time sitting around, accomplishing absolutely nothing!

Daughter mine just corrected the data: she needs information about China´s economy in the years between 1949-1976. That should be easily done, even if Mao Zedong is not what I´d call a glorious chapter in China´s history but more of a sombre one. So I have spent many hours in front of my PC for nothing. Not fair. The moral of the story-don´t run a search before you know what you are supposed to look for.
