My cats are melting, so it seems. Our female is currently residing in the upper bathroom, warily watching the ankle-deep water in the bathtube. She has always been afraid of water, but at this pinnacle of heat she tolerates its cooling feature. Her brother is sprawled out on the tiled floor, half-heartedly trying to catch the flies with one paw. No appetite today, which, in Namo´s case, is wondrous. Maybe I should open the fridge and let them climb in, to give them the opportunity to cool off and to devour the ham. Tomorrow there´ll be a drop in temperature, not for long I hope. I like hot weather. Since I was a baby I spent summers in hot climate, at least until my children were born. I miss this special feeling of lazy afternoons spent on an old fashioned sofa in a shady patio, book in hand, waiting for the day to cool down. I haven´t had summers like this for decades. All of my kids were fair-haired and pale-skinned, while I am just the opposite. Any more questions about why we did not tend to spend our summers in the South?
