Jun. 1st, 2014 08:03 pmI have ordered a new set of cat feeding bowls from our pet store, a wooden board on four tiny feet, with two bowls embedded, head and tail of a cat to be attached. Postman brought it a few days ago, but I unpacked it only yesterday in the afternoon. Looks cute, I thought, and filled the bowls. Vaire came, curiously eyeing the new cat utensil, then scoffed her meal. Namo wasn´t around, apparently still digesting the chicken fillet I had prepared for family, so I did not think much about it, when his bowl was untouched in the evening. When I went to bed, he still had not fed. I was brushing my teeth when I discovered him lying in the small space beneath coatrack and floor. At first I thought cat´s sick, but he was breathing normally, he only seemed to be intently watching god only knows what. Suddenly he dashed out of his hideout, snatched a mouthful of cat food and went back into hiding. Huh, I thought, what´s up now? And then the penny began to drop: Big bad Namo, professional pilferer, ruthless chaser of all cats in the neighbourhood (as long as they dare enter our house) was afraid of the new cat food bowl. I took away the cat´s head (the wooden one, of course), Namo began to feed. Put the head back, Namo holed up. I was in stitches. Finally a way to keep Namo the overweight from stealing his sister´s food! Head off - you may eat. Head on - bugger off! I wonder how long this will work!
