It´s so awfully quiet outside, even the birds, only too wellknown for disturbing everybody´s sleep from first daylight, seem subdued in bad weather. Technically I should see red because of it, but all I see is white because of a load of heavy snow covering my roof-top window. I have lots of gardening to do, and April is a quiet month for me in work terms, so it´s my favourite planting month, but with zero degrees outside and snow covering the garden beds I will have to sit out these hopefully last days of winterly April and wait for May to appear. My lily bulbs are not amused, that I can say, the delicate roots already squeezing through the tiny holes of the packing.
Today I decided to outmanoeouvre precious daughter mine, who has spent the last days in Prague, not taking advice to pack warm clothes though I told her it might be snowing there too, by making a stop at the pharmacy. I´ve bought the whole package of cold medicine, to circumvent the "Mum, I have a cold, I cannot go to school today" thing. I know I´m cruel and heartless, but at seventeen you better listen to your mum or read the weather forecast. Besides, I have to pick her up at the train station at 9:15 pm, which costs me half of today´s soccer game, another fact that does not improve my mood. Where is hubby when you need him? Watching the game, of course. With friends. At a pub. That figures....
