Next time precious daughter mine feels like attending another K pop event she´ll either be mature enough to travel alone or stay at home sulking. I won´t ever do that thing again, having to spend seven very long hours in the company of five pink and baby blue coloured (their hair of course) girls constantly high fiving each other for finally seeing their Korean idols in the evening- after we had performed a stunning race to our connecting train to Düsseldorf, which left me wheezing for the rest of the journey and turned into a serious cough in the evening. Seems that the only important high fiving was the one my daughter did, because she found one of the treasured "Meet and Greet" tickets in the CD she had ordered at home and now had to fetch from the merchandising booth. So I dropped the girls at the concert hall, got loaded with two heavy backpacks (still don´t know what the two had packed for two nights away from home), did not find a cab to get to the hotel and went to a pub instead, where I had a pint of very good dark beer and a very nice innkeeper to talk with. Took a cab to the hotel after having watched the car racing and promptly fell asleep for a few hours. Girls came back at midnight, ate the pizza I had brought with me from an evening walk and went to bed immdediately. Next day was freeze-your-tail-off day aka sightseeing day at seven degrees, a relatively meagre temperature for middle of May, and the next morning we traveled home again. There was another one of those weird moments when I poured me a cup of coffee and then grabbed my mobile, to tell mum about my trip to Germany. My friend, whose mother had died a few months before, had told me that this would happen as it had happened to her, because old habits die hard and I always had talked to my mother when I had been off for a few days. It´s those moments I miss her most, not when I am in her house to clear out her wardrobes and cupboards so that son number two and his wife-to-be can settle in in summer.
Vaire kicked up a fuss when I came back home and kind of ushered me to the upper bathroom. That cat is such a tell-tale, it was like "Look, mummy, what daddy did when you were away! Fed us out of the tin and did not even put the rubbish away! Yuck! That´s gross!" How come that hubby always fails to tidy up when I´m away? Usually he´s a bit of a clean freak...
