We are unfortunately at that point of the year when autumn turns into winter. Shops already sell lebkuchen at rock-bottom prices (maybe because these are near expiration date, selling has started at the end of August), Christmas markets will start the coming weekend, the big shopping centers will be ablaze with light in a few days...so it was time for a trip to my favourite garden centre, to look out for new ideas for Christmas decoration. This year there´s a stag and unicor invasion on the horizon!

And it gets even worse...

It´s getting cold outside, below zero during nights. No snow yet, which is good, very good indeed, and if I had my way it should stay like this. If I had...seems that we´ll get a first load of snow this night, before foehn sets in again and increases my intake of aspirin. Little balrog does his best to keep us warm in the evening. We bought the small fireplace when our old veins decided to protest against the in-floor heating, which unfortunately is the only way to warm up the main floor of our house. Hubby thought that one additional radiator should be enough for the living room. But the older one gets the less one endures a floor too warm, and less warmth at one´s feet is not enough to heat the room up to cosy temperature. So little Balrog got adopted and turned into a valuable edition to our household. And he is quite tame, as long as you do not open the oven door, because then he will give a mighty roar to scare you off!
