Super Bowl
Feb. 8th, 2021 05:28 pmAt 00:25 our house was bustling with three people trying to bring themselves into the best position in front of the TV. Hubby had decided he would join the bunch only the evening before, a last minute booking so to say. This made it hard for me to get a comfortable seat because he got up before my mobile alert went off. Hubby loves to watch TV the Roman way, means he watches lying, using up half of the seating accommodation, while daughter and I had to share the rest. American pizza is not our favourite one but got eaten anyway. At half-time daughter began to doze off and decided that maybe it was better to do this in her room. Hubby watched the Weeknd show, which was better than I expected, then quit. From then on it was TV and me, which was good, because now I was able to cheer or swear without getting scolded. At my age cheering and swearing is not exactly appreciated. Hubby always tells me to behave more dignified, according to age, but I haven´t been able to revel when young, so it´s now or never! I still wonder how it is possible to stretch a game of 60 minutes playing time to a cool three and a half hours length. The half-time show did only last 20 minutes...Of course, they did not show the streaker at the end of the game, even though this one still had a bodice and shorts on, so no peril for little ones going blind because of too much naked skin and suffer lifelong trauma. But it was so much fun to watch the faces of the players watching the display. Especially Brady had a hard time to conceal his mirth!
Needless to say that I am more dead than alive the longer the day lasts. I went to bed at 4.20 and the moment sleep was claiming me hubby woke and asked for the final outcome of the game. That gave me another hour of counting sheep. At least the birds were unnaturally quiet this morning. Must be because winter has decided to come back for a visit! Weather forecast told us to get the heating going full blast for the next week. My hope is that we will stay on the warmer side of the country. The region I live in has escaped wintery capers all season long: neither too much cold nor too much snow. I hope it will stay this way!
