Ranting part 2

They say that pub gardens might open in April. Might. Who the heck will open such in our region, when there´s still a good chance for snowy interludes? And who will have coffee or beer only after a valid Covid test? They also say that outdoor sports for youths will be allowed soon. I say none of it will happen. Covid numbers won´t get down but are climbing again. Our politicians don´t get it. All of us, not only young people, have enough of a lockdown that is not effective. They´d need to barricade the doors to houses and flats as in China, but that would mean that no one might show up for work, but effective it´d be, indeed. The most dangerous places now are schools (hello, young virus spreaders) and public transport. And private meetings aka parties in cellars and garages. If you keep people from officially meeting each other long enough they will remedy the situation by themselves. Only now many of us begin to realise that the summer of 2021 will be even worse than last year´s one. Last year we had a gap of a few week, when we were allowed to travel to places we love, preferably such with the sea nearby. This year our dearest politicians know that some of the homecomers had Covid in their luggage, so travelling there will only be allowed with the immunisation card our chancellor wants to force upon us and the rest of Europe. Vaccination might be key to freedom, but I think things will boil down to no one in, no one out. We do not have vaccine enough to give the shot to more than those who aren´t able to travel anyway. Yet 25 percent of vaccine doses are happily drowsing in freezers and doctor´s offices. Pfizer is talked up as magic cure, guarded by military (this is no joke!) in case someone wants to steel it. Or inoculate it to one of those unfortunate mayors who haven´t gotten their dose as yet. Moderna? Yes, there should be some who were vaccinated with this vaccine, but only a few. You simply can´t use what you don´t have. And Astra Zeneca is a bad seller. Results are not adequate with the South African mutation which is now spread all over the country. Maybe, if we had had more vaccine of Astra in the beginning things would look not that bad for us and AZ. And hadn´t there been a plan once, to combine Astra with Sputnik, to get the most out of both? Russians have not even requested approval yet, they say. And that´s one of many lies we get told. Russia has requested approval in October 2020 and for emergency approval in December. Only EMA pretends to know nothing. Maybe they need the request of approval printed in gold letters and handed on a plate...Never mind! The only thing that matters is the light at the end of the tunnel our chancellor has seen. Though, in this case, it might be the light of an oncoming express train...
