So much for forgiveness
Oct. 5th, 2021 05:52 pmIn the early afternoon hubby picked up the bouquet then we drove to the funeral. The deceased´s wife had already told me that the minister had not been unfriendly but strange when he had come to her home after she had found her husband. Today his strangeness turned into an unapologetic attitude. There has been more than one hint of how much he despised suicide, there were a lot of slips of the tongue, and the worst one was when he talked about depravity. For those who speak German- he called the deceased Verdorbener instead of Verstorbener. Some people began to murmur about his lapse, but it makes obvious how the Catholic Church is wired. I do not think that the minister´s words have been of help to the widow. We left soon after, because hubby never goes to a funeral reception. Now guess who went there, though she had not spent a single Euro for flowers and the like! Yes, the cheapskate showed up during the ceremony, late, as always, and she, of course, did not reject the opportunity of a decent meal she does not have to pay for. That´s her all over!
Tomorrow we´ll have a short excursion into autumn, with a lot of rain and really cool temperatures. Snow down to 1300 metres, thank you very much! Today it has been mild yet grey. Do we really need to have autumn, and worse, winter? Bad enough that Covid makes many of us depressive!

Grey and drab all day long...
