I had thought that today might be a rare one where I would not have to heat our oven. We had leftovers which would have done nicely for me, hubby is at a class reunion and will eat at a restaurant. But son will arrive in the evening. This one´s list of what he does not eat is way longer than the one with things he likes. No cold cuts, no cheese, no salad, no vegetables when uncooked...I think I´d be busy for a long time to enlist all things he hates. I think I will have to improvise. I really do not want to change clothes and drive to a grocery shop. I have been busy with embroidering and cleaning and and and...and I have been sanding off the table in the conservatory and even waxed it, and twice at that! Thing is that we will have a significant drop of temperatures tomorrow with rain aplenty, so embroidering will not happen until sun is back again. It´s neigh impossible for me to do cross stitching in artificial lighting, so bad are my eyes! And it will get worse when we switch back to standard time, because then the best time for needle work will be before midday, when I am still occupied with housework. Btw, it´s about time to engage more in this sort of unwanted work- the low position of the sun mercilessly shows all those little things I have neglected to cleanse during summertime. I think I will have to stock up on furniture polish and window cleaner... I so hate window cleaning, since my Nemo died on me! Then there´s the problem with the embroidery threads I bought in Germany. Since Covid numbers have exploded in our country, it is simply a question of time until the crossing of the border will be only possible under tighter control, or will be stopped generally. I think this might turn into the new game for autumn, when Covid numbers are rising in all countries. Sadly it will also hit those who are vaccinated or tested or both. Those who did not care about getting the vaccination always will find an illicit way to get into the neighbouring country. Best example is our neighbour, the one who did not want to spend money on flowers for the funeral- not vaccinated, never tested, but on the other side of the border twice a week, when there´s a flea market where she can sell the goods she has sponged from other people! The 3G regulation does not impress her, impudence wins!
