Husband dearest, who loves his meals spicier than spicy on normal days, insists that a soon-to-be preschooler (Cassian turns three at the end of May) needs to eat non-spicy things, like sausages with only a bit of ketchup, or chicken schnitzel, or even better, sweet things like pancakes or Kaiserschmarrn with applesauce. I am not sure about who of the two has come up with the sweet things, because Cassian definitely tends to the spicy side. I think it´s hubby who wants things which remind him of his youth, he must have been brought up by loads of marmelade, while I was the one who had a grandfather whose flat was across the town´s famous butcher, so meat instead of marmelade. I still prefer meat to sweet! Grandson, too, is not so fond of sweet things save for the one piece of chocolate he gets when he is with us. Today hubby insisted that it had to be healthy carrot soup- too many carrots in the pantry. I was very tempted to tell him that if he wanted soup he could do it himself, but then I remembered
wiseheart´s entry-and did a spicy ginger-garlic-carrot soup with Cassian as a helper, when hubby was out in the garden. Tee-hee, so much for infant food! Grandson loved it, and hubby did, too!
I still have to work on the elaboration of the new knitting project, but thanks to
inwe_saralonde´s advice and the things I had already figured out I think that I will be able to start the sweater soon, so that it will be ready for Easter. Which reminds me that I haven´t yet posted fotos of my last project, which got finished about three weeks ago. Apparently there´s too much on my mind these days. On Monday special buys like flour and noodles were already sold out in the morning. Shelves did not get restocked. Yesterday I found strawberries from Spain still at a reasonable price, while hubby´s beloved tomatos were at an all-time high. It´s a shame, I fear they are playing with us! At least hubby will bring home more soil, to fill the huge pots we have, so that we can grow our own tomatos, chillis and other vegetables. Who knows what will be lacking in the shops during summer!
