Acknowledging defeat
After several tries and a lot of mishaps I thought I´d got the hang of knitting the arched waistband, and that it was about time to start with Elsa´s sweater. Finger is halfway okay, I am bored, because going out of the house is sheer torture with all the trees flowering and me amidst the pollen. Knitting would have been a nice option this weekend- only that I did my knitting samples with a slightly thicker wool, and with the one I had planned to use the sweater looked awful. Out of proportion, the wool not to my liking- I mean, I like the colours (yes, it is multi-coloured), but this does not work well with the pattern I picked. I think wool will wander into the container of unfinished needlework, while I will wander to the wool store and buy new one. I so hope that we will be through with tree flowering season soonest, because I really need to do more gardening and less fruitless knitting.
Tonight our shutters have been rattling again, and in the morning I found that my garden chairs were true garden chairs now, because they had taken off from the terrace and landed on the lawn- all four of them.
Vaire cat seems to miss her brother, her nightly singing turns more insistent with each passing day. Tonight she made it into the sleeping room, when I opened the door to feed her and thusly put an end to her singing. Fine with me, but not with hubby. She has peed too often onto husband´s pillow, though she never soiled mine. Hubby did a funny chase-this-cat-out-of-the-bedroom, which lasted about five minutes, before he got her. Vaire cat is very good at hiding! Needless to say that I was not much help to husband dearest, because my glasses were in the living room one floor down! So I get up each night around four in the morning, give Vaire some patting and feed her. She will be quiet for about an hour then the ruckus will start anew. Well, she is an old cat and has never been alone until now. Alas, I now have a veritble sleep deficit, because once I am up and running I will stay awake until it is time to get up for breakfast...
