Ouch!

News travel fast, I should have known! Yesterday in the afternoon I got the call that our former neighbour would come for a visit. At nine, when I was preparing for bed, an actual neighbour called and told me, that she would gladly meet up with the two of us. That was a bummer, because she's the one who always drinks and smokes too much, though she's a nice person per se. Wouldn't be a problem, if we could sit outside on the terrace, but today it was once again cold, rainy and very windy. I prepared a cosy place outside for her, where she was able to smoke. Not that I can't stand the smoke of cigarettes, but too much is, well, too much! Hubby has solved the problem with the cake, he bought a last-minute one yesterday evening, five minutes, before the shops closed- a frozen Donauwelle, which thawed in the fridge during night. If it had not, we'd have had ice cake with coffee!
Daughter will spend this night in her old home, because she thinks I will be able to repair her uniform. It's torn- luckily on the inside only, from hauling luggage onto the conveyor belt. Well, let's see if a tape for curtains will do the trick. Now if I only knew where I've put this tape...
