...and it´s travel day for quite a lot of our neighbours, it feels as if we´d have the motorway straight in front of our house, though it is on the other side of the river, at least one kilometre away. It has been this way yesterday, it has been so all night long, and it´s still very loud. This in combination with the second tropical night of this summer led to a somewhat disturbed sleep. Yes, we´ve had a veritable thunderstorm in the evening, blessedly after Cassian had fallen asleep. Yes, we´ve had rain, quite a lot of it. But temperatures did not go under 23, there was next to no wind, and we were not able to turn on the air con because of grandson´s irreal fear of it. We got up at seven and had breakfast on the terrace while counting cars. Cassian and husband left soon after, to bring aunt Lil her beloved Schwarzwälder Schinken and banana milk, and then the young man got brought back to where he belongs, while I did tomato kimchi, marinated the courgette I got from Dil then did steak for lunch. I even finished the collar of Cassian´s jumper. I still think that I could have done better, but I won´t unravel it a second time. Knitting these days is hard enough! Next to no sun today, but we were up to 29 degrees. 29 feels awful with all that humidity! Another thunderstorm is on its way and will hit soon. Maybe this time temperatures will go down enough to give us a decent sleep! Tomorrow they promise 34 again and lots of sun. May my tomatoes use the fine weather to finally ripen! All of my plants are full with countless tiny fruits now. And I thought that this experiment might be a flop. Okay, it has been a flop with the chillies. Not a single fruit on this front- well, maybe they need more time...
