...so time to contemplate about time. Or how times have changed, though already we are drifting back to ´good old days´. When my oldest children had been in kindergarten, the time between St. Martin and advent seemed a long stretch. Cold, dark days, until the first candle got lit, and even more days until we were able to visit the famous Christkindl market in the nearby town. Nowadays Christkindl markets are all over the country, and the first ones will open on Thursday the oncoming week. That's a six-day wait from Martin's day on! I know that other countries start the Christmas marathon even sooner. When my parents had a necessity-driven landing in Heathrow on their flight to Arizona, they got brought to a hotel, which had decorated each table in the dining room with tiny Christmas trees- it was the 26th of October, for Christ's sake! Apparently we have jumped on the bandwagon, with gingerbread at the end of summer, advertisements for Christmas baking in October (those cookies I want to see!) and Christkindl markets starting in the middle of November. Since our covid rules had put an end to practically all Christkindl markets for two years in a row, people are wild to finally visit one this year. Maybe they should be quick and do so the next two weeks, covid numbers have started to climb again, and no one knows what our idiotic politicians are up to this winter! Already two of the most idiotic institutions ( Gecko, Coronatraffic light) have been extended until May 2023. Gecko- a bunch of overpaid people, some of them from military (that alone should raise red flags!), who lead off the fight against the 70000 covid cases a day we never had, not anywhere near! God preserve us from such morons! This does not bode well for us!
We got an invitation for Elsa's namesday on Saturday next week, but we'd have to do it with Cassian in tow. Great, sitting in a car with a three year old for almost three hours, that's a scenario I thought I'd never have to do again! Turned out that Elsa wanted her grandparents but no Cassian. Sorry, Elsa, but since we have to take care of our grandson this day, you will have to celebrate with your parents only. At least I do not have to shop for a present fitting a princess...
I did spend almost an hour stitching along today, even though it was quite cold in the studio. Hubby has activated underfloor heating but not the radiators. I think I remember the same game played last year, when I went into the cellar and retrieved a radiant heater. Hubby has climbed the learning curve- no radiator was to be found, even though I turned everything upide down. After one hour I quit. The dwarf has two boots, pants and a beard now. Not much to see yet, so no photos...
