Sleepless night (almost)
Nov. 14th, 2022 05:42 pm For the first time in months I went to bed late- at 0:30 in the morning, which may be fairly usual to some of you, but husband does call me Mrs. Sleepyhead for a reason! Anyway, getting to bed late does not imply that sleep will come easily. In fact, sleep did not come before four in the morning and ended at five fourty five, when litter service managed to drop one of the garbage bins. In between I did a bit of reading, which made hubby wallow about, so I turned the ebook reader off. At two in the morning Föhnsturm started to toss all kind of things around in the garden. Unfortunately it also managed to dislocate the bottom edge of the makeshift shelter hubby had built for the palm trees. We now had a banner of four square metres happily rattling in the strong wind. Eventually I fell asleep and dreamed that I had to pick daughter up from the dentist, who had pulled two teeth of her, because there was pus at the dental roots. I remember that I shouted at her, that no reputable dentist would pull teeth because of this, and that I would not pay her implants. I woke, because I was shouting at a clueless husband then. Fortunately I fell asleep again soon after. But if you think that I´d be able to sleep in longer- forget about it! First the litter service, then idiot neighbours- today was the day, when everyone in the vicinity felt the need to haul out the big guns aka tools like hydraulic hammers and chainsaws- at seven in the morning! I gave up and got up early. Had breakfast, did dress up for shopping- only to find that my car would be off at nine for the yearly inspection and tyre change. So I did a bit of unmotivated cross stitching, until weather decided that clouds were typical for autumn, and I had to turn the lights on. I have to admit that after lunch I fell asleep for more than an hour and started shopping late. Apparently too late, because grounded hazelnuts and walnuts were already sold out. But I got straw stars for crafting. My friend and I wanted to do them ourselves, alas, no straw available in the crafts shops. This year is a crazy one...
I have ordered twenty bells for crafting from Amazon. They are to arrive tomorrow, probably when I will already be off to Germany with a friend. I can see my husband rattling the box with the bells, wondering if his wife has gone mad, and he did not notice it in time!
