One more lazy day
Feb. 10th, 2023 06:30 pm Daughter mine stayed at our house until this afternoon. Since we both suffer from the same virus, we had no problem with sitting next to each other doing crossword puzzles and the like. Hubby did lunch- he bought pita with pulled pork- which is easier than doing experiments in cooking without sense of smell and taste, like daughter and I did the day before. Surf and turf while flying blind, so to speak! Tomorrow daughter will have to resume her weekend job at the airport, and it will be a stressful working day- 11th and 18th of February are the days with the most landings at the airport this year. Over 200 planes and such a provincial airport- the abutting owner of houses and flats will throw one fit after another! The real problem is that building sites have been and still are way cheaper near the airport, and many a housing block's now situated there. I thought that people living in such buildings are aware what they have bought or rented? Or are they only seeking a quarrel in hope that one day the airport will cease operating and their investment in the property has finally paid off?
Since I brought up my plans for remodelling the studio, all of my sons made themselves scarce- manual labour is so not their thing! Hubby does not mind occasional manual labour but is against remodelling of the room, so no help from his side! I get the impression that he practically gloats over the situation, but there´s one thing he hasn´t reckoned with- daughters and friends of mine, who will step in! As soon as we are back to health, we will start the endeavour!
We had a row of month too warm, starting from October. At the moment temperatures barely make it over zero, but next week we might get a whiff of spring with temperatures up to 15 degrees- celsius, of course! What makes me pensive is that some serious weather models predict a very wintery March. Not a novelty, but apparently a consequenc of climate change. Just when the days are full of light again, weather might have an unwanted backslide. But no matter how cold outside, more daylight always awakens my readiness for work, be it in the house or in the garden. And more fresh air also means less predisposition for colds (or so I got told).
