Expensive cat
Feb. 27th, 2023 07:26 pm At the moment I am paying around 120 Euro per month for Vaire cat (or Walkner cat aka Walknerin, ´in´ a suffix in German which expresses that it´s about a female)- for diet food and medication only. Visits to the vet are not included because they are fairly cheap for me, because vet and I are old friends. Please do not tell others... 120 Euros still is a lot of money in times like these, but you better not have a pet, if you think it's not worth it. Walknerin (I love that new name of her) still has problems with navigation - just like her namegiver, the famous KTM pilot who won the Paris-Dakar once. No wonder, he never was very bright, and my son often wondered how he made it through school! Otherwise Walknerin is fine, jumps up sofas and things she´d better not be jumping up- more than once I had to pick her out of various sinks she had landed in.
Trip to KiK was successful. I now have a nice collection of plastic eggs I will put on trees and the planting table. I found another shop which sells those eggs, too, but at twice the price. No, thanks, even though I have a grudge against KiK. I had bought two sweatpants with dinosaurs for Cassian and Flavius, which cost 8,99 each- only at home I found the price tag which showed 6,99 each for Austria and Germany and practically the whole of Europe. I wonder if they do it with other things, too, or if it´s the only branch store with such dubious methods- paste over a new sticker, and that´s it!
Daughter got fetched from the train station by husband mine. She had picked up my new contact lenses from the biggest shopping center in town, one I try to give a wide berth, if possible. Too many shops, too many people I should know but won´t recognise- always had that problem, I am bad at memorising faces! We had a late lunch, a nap, and then I brought out a new booklet with crossword puzzles.
Daughter will stay overnight, which is fine with me and hubby. Walknerin will be delighted- finally a person she can climb onto and sit for more than five minutes.
Oh dear, it´s Monday again and definitely not Barnaby time, because husband mine does not like Barnaby but straight German crime films (totally humourless, as always), while I will sit in front of the TV, twiddling thumbs and bemoaning another Monday without Barnaby. I do have a TV in the studio, but it´s not nice to let hubby sit alone. If only he´d love Barnaby at least every other week, which would be fair!
