Running out of summer
Sep. 8th, 2023 07:00 pm Hubby has been off on his new, very red e-bike early to work at number two's house. First thing- find the tiles son bought but DiL stowed away. Tiler wanted to continue with tiling but couldn't. Then hubby wanted to continue his work on the garden wall- but DiL had stowed his tools away, too. I have to say that hubby was livid when he came back. All he had done this morning was look for things that should have been in plain sight and not out of sight!
Today was another late summer day here. I did a bit of pruning and watering the tomatoes, harvested a whole bowl and some chillis also, pieced another star constellation together then did the usual Friday's ´raid the fridge´. We ended up with potatoes Mexican style- potatoes, jalapenos, ham and bacon, and, of course, some eggs. Spicy indeed! I did exactly eight rows of knitting on each sweater, before I banned all four back to the workbasket. Not in the mood for knitting or doing anything of value- autumn blues has come early this year! I got up at 6:30 this morning- felt as if it was 4:30 at the beginning of the only season I am in love with!
Last rays of sunshine blinking through the trees at the top of the hill- sun is off behind the range of hills at 5:20 now- that's when I will start my evening programme, which is reading mostly. Even turning my PC on is too much of a hassle at the moment. I do not need suggestions on Pinterest for decorating the house for autumn or Halloween. Or browse for Wichtel decorating in Advent time. In October maybe. Or maybe not at all. My friend found some really cute items for my Wichtel project at Tedi. That's fine with me, less crafting to do this year. As I said- I am not in the mood- yet. But I will pull through, and without the help of chocolate this year! I must not gain even more weight, bad enough that skipping dinner does nothing to make me lose those darb kilos! Life is unfair, I so knew it!
