Rice woes

Hubby came back late from bringing our grandsons to their house- he had left at five, came back after seven. The children's dad was at work, probably not returning before midnight. Their mum came just before seven without telling hubby that it would be so late. First thing she asked was if she could bring the boys again today, but hubby said no. Thankfully it stayed this way, Both hubby and I need a bit of respite, especially after the boys´ rearranging of some furniture in the guestroom, which left some scratches on the wooden floor. DiL better take Cassian to the paediatrician. Definitely not my job. Bad enough that aunt Lil and I still suffer from the germs inherited. We left after breakfast, had a nice day at the gallery with coffee and cake with a friend afterwards, but we retured in time to do early dinner, because daughter wanted to go back to her flat in the evening. Rice got made in the ´early´ morning by my beloved rice cooker. Tuna and chicken filling got done then, too. Only when back home we realised that the rice was not as sticky as it should have been. It's hard to do onigiri this way! We will have to work on the triangle shape and will only buy sushi rice coming from sushí land from now on!
Some people must have lost their mind- in today's daily a woman demanded that people should stop eating sushi with fish but use vegetables only and replace nori by spinach leaves. Yuck! What's next? Replace the rice by rolled oats? Double yuck! Our Greens have got some nerve!
It's definitely too warm outside- it was 28 degrees today! The next days will get cooler finally, especially during night. Lately I have kept the balcony door closed during night- we had some sort of spider invasion, because the screen door does not close properly anymore and needs replacement, and spiders love a nice place during the cold season. Going on a spider hunt each evening is not my favourite, but neither it is sleeping in a bedroom too warm. Cool nights and a bit of rain will be very appreciated!
My hope for tomorrow is that DiL won´t park her offspring at our house before midday, so that I will be able to finish the knitting of the sleeves of the jumpers for the youngest ones- one needs some tinking- six blue rows off, twelve white to add. The others need six more rows in white each. Unfortunately the blue wool had not been enough, hence the alteration in colour. Not a big thing, it won´t even take long. The seaming will have to wait until the weather clears up again. If it even gets that bad- you never know if the low makes it to our country!
