Oh the quiet...
Oct. 6th, 2023 06:48 pm After hubby had left yesterday afternoon, Cassian got tired too soon, so we watched TV. No documentaries about historical events this time but a film about crocodiles. Cassian fears crocodiles, since he plumped from our inflatable one straight into the pool water. No matter how small (Schleich ones) or big (we have a new inflatable one which is huge)- he doesn´t like the beasts anymore, much to Elsa´s chagrin, whose second word had been crocodile. So I switched to Swiss mountain railways. When grandpa returned from the vernissage early, Cassian (watching a short Halloween clip before going to bed) proudly told him that he had watched a documentary about the Rigips train. Young one must have seen too many Gyprocks (the equivalent to Rigips) being carried to the upper bathroom for renovation work. And I see a steam railway on the way up to Rigi, dragging a trailer full of Rigips up to the top.
Hubby brought Cassian to kindergarten, while I took a quick shower. Then we were off to a flea market. Is it only me, or is the supply of second-hand articles waning? Next to no children´s toys, less books- maybe people have begun to sell their ware instead of donating them. Twice as bad in times like these, at least in our parish, where the church needs urgent renovation. Flea markets help with the project- only that we have a huge lot of flea market sharks, who randomly fill their bags but pay less than other clients- and sell their pickings a few days later on private flea markets at four times the price...
The rest of the day got spent with seaming and darning in- two jumpers are ready for wearing now. Four sleeves still need tinking and adding rows, this will get done tomorrow. Hubby and I also did a bit of jigsaw puzzling, then he drove to the drugstore and fetched medication for Oscar and number one, who have inherited scarlet fever from Xaver. So glad that the family was nice enough to not visit Octoberfest, because, as I already told you, my immune systeme always says yay, when it comes to streptococci, and goes into hiding!
