New kid in the street

 DiL of our vice major had her baby four weeks early- another girl! Baby seems to be okay, so the parents of Dil told hubby, who met them at Lidl. He has been her teacher aeons ago- so good that she survived his rigid methods, because she is a feisty lady, who keeps her chin up in this quite commanding family! Vice major always had wanted a daughter, but got three sons, now she has two granddaughters in compensation- not that bad!
I have been cleaning both couches in the living room with a lot of water and hard soap this morning! Took me some time, and it´s definitely not my favourite job, because it´s very messy- but our grandchildren kissed the microfiber once too often with chocolaty mouths! Then I did cook, because hubby refused to eat McDonalds at number one. Afterwards I rested a bit then get up it was to crochet- a lot! Part of it got done while I watched the Salzburger Adventsingen- an oratory regarding the birth of Jesus. My father has been singing in the choir once, I have been, too. Hubby was a part of the music ensemble for years... time does fly, indeed! Not a fan of the oritory Adventsingen has been turned into. Too much pomp, not enough local music, no readings anymore, but still- it made me melancholic, but only a bit! Anyway, will have to watch it again tomorrow- today they showed a what they call ´slightly shortened version´, which was half the time the oratory lasts in the original!
I did no cookies today- hubby has prepared a huge amount of shortcrust pastry, which is still in the fridge. He must have forgotten that he wanted to do chilli jam cookies, and, as it seems, quite a lot of those! Tomorrow the oven will be mine again, and hubby will have to wait in line, tee-hee, if he wants to bake! Now I wonder how big his cookies will turn out- he has used the self-raising flour I finally found in a shop, but also put baking powdwer into the mixture. Not my fault if he won´t read the label!
